Southampton captain Jose Fonte believes the club are fully equipped to find a replacement for the Everton-bound Ronald Koeman. 

Koeman officially resigned from his post as Southampton manager on Tuesday, and was promptly announced the new Everton boss replacing the sacked Roberto Martinez. 

The Dutchman had been in charge of Southampton since 2014 after taking over from Mauricio Pochettino, who was poached by fellow Premier League side Tottenham. 

Fonte said he has faith the club will be able to find a quality replacement for Koeman, just like they did for Pochettino two years ago.

Didier Deschamps hopes returning midfielder Abou Diaby will be fit to face Belarus in France s second 2014 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

The Arsenal midfielder was influential on his return to the national side after more than a year s absence, scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Finland on Friday.

Diaby struck in the 19th minute of a largely dour game but his presence in the middle of the park provided a huge boost to manager Deschamps despite tiring late on in the match.

The 26-year-old only appeared four times for the Gunners last season and may be a risk of over-exerting himself, according to Deschamps.

Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez has extended his contract by two years, the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) has confirmed.

Martinez, who was appointed after Euro 2016, successfully guided the team to the World Cup finals with nine wins and one draw from 10 qualifying matches.

RBFA bosses have been sufficiently impressed to hand him a contract extension, which will keep him in charge throughout the qualifying phase of Euro 2020.
